Just a survey about diaper rash ointments?

My kids are 10, 5 and 2 so I am asking just for the fun of it. What did you use to treat diaper rash? Our tried and true method was Boudreaux's Butt Paste (yes that's the real name) and it was usually gone by the next change. So what do you use and how long does it typically take to heal it?

The butt paste is awsome. My daughter had such sensitive skin and would get diaper rash from anything and we tried many diff creams and the one that worked on her bis was no help to her. We tried the butt paste and it was a god send for us!
Reply:I love Aveeno and Method brand diaper rash creams. I start using it at the first hint of redness and before bed. They both work great and the redness is usually gone by the next change. I love that there is no strong scent that lingers on your fingers. I hated A%26amp;D and Desitin because when I would eat later and bring my hand to my mouth, I would smell diaper rash cream - ick! I used Boudreaux's Butt paste with my 2nd child and really could take it or leave it -- I really didn't like the scent. It worked well, though!
Reply:I use Aquaphore for my kids. It is amazing stuff. It is alot like vaseline, but it isnt petroleum based so it heals and moisturizes, but allows the skin to breath as well. You can find it in a tube in the baby section, or you can find it in a tub in the lotion section. My husband has terribly dry cracked feet particularly his heals and this smooths them right up!!!
Reply:My son is only 5 months old so I have not had to deal with diaper rash yet. I got some Desitin and Butt Paste as gifts for my baby shower and plan to try them both. I really am hoping he doesn't ever get a diaper rash though. I suppose that is probably wishful thinking?!
Reply:The only thing that ever seemed to work for my boys was the same stuff used for men for jock itch or woman for a yeast infection. The diaper rash stuff never seemed to help at all. I didn't try the butt paste though but have heard it is good stuff.
Reply:I use Aveeno every night before she goes to bed since she sleeps all night. I have never had a diaper rash problem, so I dont know how well it works, or how long it takes to heal. I know a few people who swear by Desitin.
Reply:I used Metalium (UK) and that worked great. Benpathen is use just as a barrier. I honestly think the secret is in slapping it on when you see it start. I keep the Butt Paste for us adults shaving rashes or spots!
Reply:I use Sudocrem ... and it is amazing :-) usually gone by the next morning as well!!!
Reply:I have yet to encounter diaper rash, but Lanolin[like for your nipples].

Is what my fathers fiance uses.
Reply:My fav is the ever popular original Desitin. I love the smell and it cures so fast! Thank goodness we hardly ever had to use it, but when we did....my kiddos were thankful!
Reply:Desitin Creamy... Yes, rash will be goe at next change with this one too... :)
