1. What is your age and state of residence (only)? 46 y/o. Calif

2. How often do you eat fast food? Why? Once every other week - Subway 6" turkey on wheat with everything

3. How often do you use the drive-thru to order your fast food and why? I don't anymore. Have changed by eating habits since May. Trying to be healthier.

4. How much automotive idle time do you estimate you use at the drive-thru? None

5. How do you currently feel about environmental issues, and do you think the idle emissions from automobiles contribute emissions to the greenhouse effect, if you believe the greenhouse effect is a dilemma? It's terrible.

6. Is the drive-thru a major/minor convienence to your life and why? It's a convenience. Saves time parking and waiting in the restaurant.

7. Would you consider paying a nominal tax for use of the drive- thru each visit, if you knew the nominal tax would be used for state environmental iniatives? Yes

8. Would you be willing to pay a $0.15 service tax for usage of the drive-thru, if the tax funded research for alternative fuel? Why, or why not? Yes - as long as it's a comprehensive plan. Not only alternative fuel vehicles but the ability to "fuel" them.

9. What is the maximum amount you would consider for a drive-thru service tax? Very small . =%26lt;$0.15

10. How do you feel this might affect your lifestyle? It wouldn't. I would still go to a drive through if I wanted to.

10. i probably wouldnt visit as often knowing i was going to pay extra tax for food that is already taxed as i said before we are paying so much today for gas prices that i feel a new tax for drive thru would be useless

Reply:ca , seems that would be better spent to make sure studies like that get done the way their supposed to to start with.

that would be a public or political customer initiated study and enforcement !
Reply:1. What is your age and state of residence (only)?

31yld and reside in NT, Australia

2. How often do you eat fast food? Why?

At least 3 times per week. The convenience and just too tired to cook

3. How often do you use the drive-thru to order your fast food and why? Nearly all the time. The convenience as you don't need to get out of the car and I can have a long chat with my husband as he has nowhere to escape.

4. How much automotive idle time do you estimate you use at the drive-thru? Between 5- 15 mins depending how slow they are at the drive-thru and the length of the queue.

5. How do you currently feel about environmental issues, and do you think the idle emissions from automobiles contribute emissions to the greenhouse effect, if you believe the greenhouse effect is a dilemma? I feel very strongly about environmental issues. Yes, I agree as fast food is getting more and more popular= millions of cars idling at drive-thrus all around the world. It will have a huge impact on the greenhouse effect

6. Is the drive-thru a major/minor convienence to your life and why? Its a pretty minor convenience I could just as easily park the car and go in and order in person which I will try and do from now on.

7. Would you consider paying a nominal tax for use of the drive- thru each visit, if you knew the nominal tax would be used for state environmental iniatives? Yes, I would but only if a fare chunk of it was going to environmental initiatives and less to the fastfood giants. They have huge profits as it is.

8. Would you be willing to pay a $0.15 service tax for usage of the drive-thru, if the tax funded research for alternative fuel? Why, or why not? Yes, I would as it would fund research and so a solution would be found a lot quicker

9. What is the maximum amount you would consider for a drive-thru service tax? $0.20 cents ( AUS Dollar )

10. How do you feel this might affect your lifestyle?I don't think that this would have any affect on my lifestyle. Its a small price to pay for a healthier planet.

(Thank you from a very greatful student. :)
Reply:I don't have time to answer all this, but drive-thrus should have a "tax", in essence, as far as I'm concerned. I'm sick of standing there at the counter, and then the drive up orders take up all the time.
