Survey : What do you think about cloning - is it good or bad and why?

For a food source, sure clone as many fish or sheep as you like. People should not be cloned. Sure we can create a person, but who will provide that person with a soul?

Survey : What do you think about cloning - is it good or bad and why?
If Angelina Jolie was cloned a few Million times over, then there will be a few Million very happy men on this earth.

If Robert Mugabe was cloned a few times over - there will be nobody on this Earth.

I think Cloning for say agricultural purposes ie Creating the best tasting Chicken to eat - is not bad, but cloning of Humans can cause endless problems - It will make some people very powerfull and this power will be abused.
Reply:There are way too many people on earth. We can't even produce enough food to feed everybody. As it is we are putting so much pressure on nature and now they want to clone people and prolong lives. Don't you think that if you have kidney problems it is natures way of "weeding out the weak"? It nature it is survival of the fittest but we think to believe that we can prolong lives and over populate the world and everything will be okay.

If they can clone plants and seeds that is for the good of the whole of mankind then yes by all means go ahead. But cloning for the benefit of 1 person is against nature.
Reply:This is a hectic one ,Cloning and cell manipulation , i think is good in certain instances , like cloning of plants (CB Seed in PTA clone many veggies that are of good quality in order to maintain top quality seeds for new crops) , certain live viruses to be used as vaccinations (Bioclones SA, in Centurion clones and manipulate, bacteria, viruses and cell cultures for medical use), etc , im all for technological advances ,Imagine with one of your cells , they can "grow" you a new kidney or liver , etc , no need to worry about your body rejecting it , etc, but like anything in life , there will always be some who wants to use these technologies for self interest....
Reply:I dont really know....

I havent really thought about it, though for years I wished I'd had a twin sister. You might know that I was carrying twins last year and lost one when I was 2 months prego. I dont know how I would've managed with two Rebels in my life... the other already had a name (Obokile to with Rebokile) so it would've been Obie and Rebie... :)

A bit of me wishes I would've somehow cloned the other and had two sons to drive me up the wall, but what happened was intended so by God and one need accept. Nowhere is it written that it is wrong (right?), so as long as its used to make more good people... hey, who would mind? I would sure beg for my late brother to be cloned so I could have more time with him. Though i am a bit guilt ridden for wishing it... I mean, maybe its wrong... I'm confused.

But if you ask a mom who lost a baby and was given the opportunity to have him back...?

Anyway, I cant say whether it is bad or good...
Reply:I think cloning is wrong, and call me insensitive, but I also think the whole process of using cloned pieces (like creating a new heart / lungs / kidneys etc.) is also wrong.

We are interfering in things far Greater that what we can begin to imagine.

There is a circle of life, survival of the fittest.... and until we don't fully understand the whole system, we should not be meddling with it.
Reply:To be honest I don't really know so much about it but from what I know I don't really agree because we are now interfering far to much with nature and how things are made. We humans are becoming for to clever for out own good.

But then again it's not a bad thing if it's going to cure things like cancer etc etc.
Reply:I am against cloning anything but for trying to attempt to clone extinct species, like the Cape Lion, Blue Buck etc. I think with cloning humans people are trying to be God and that is against my religion. There is too many people on this earth, we really do not have to clone more, any way who is really good enough to clone anyway?
Reply:I am with ZXCV

I think its fine in the sense that we have a long list world wide of people that need vital organs i.e Liver Kidneys and etr.

Maybe we can find a way of regenerating nerve cells which would be great news for people in wheel chairs.

That way it will be possible to do a brain transplant which will mean we can live forever all we do is transfer bodies.

The people that say its playing God.

How do they know if its not God's plan for us to clone.

Its just another form of reproduction innit.
Reply:Cloning for me is a no go. It is like playing God. This is one part where humans must stay out and we should not interfere with nature.
Reply:Honey I am against Cloning,I am Cathloci for me it's wrong to interfere in Gods works.xxx
Reply:I agree with Gene. Clone food, but never people. Each one is uniquely precious.
Reply:I think its better to be in testing level.........

I need to write a survey for families asking about their family hoilday traditions.?

Do you have some good questions I could include?

I need to write a survey for families asking about their family hoilday traditions.?
Try to avoid leading questions...that make the family think you want them to answer a certain way. You want to make sure all families feel included in this activity. Maybe some fill in the blanks, that way it keeps it simple.

In December, our family celebrates ____________________. We like to eat _____________________ and play _________________ as part of the celebration. We share our celebration with these people: ________________________________________... ________________________________________... We help others celebrate when we _____________________________.

We celebrate by giving each other _______________________ to show our love and joy.

There's a start for you. Have fun!
Reply:you can ask "Do you have any holiday traditions?"
Reply:Because our family is so big, we draw names.(I'm 47yrs old and have 7 brothers and sisters)

Us siblings are on one list, my parents grandkids (about 22 of them) on another list.

Ask what meals are served. (Do the men help)

Are there certain X-mas movies/cartoons watched.

Are there certain games played.

Does anyone in the family dress up as Santa for the kids.

Is there a train set-up around the X-mas tree. (My Dad got his first train set 20 years ago and arranges presents as tunnels and buildings.)

I hope this helps.

By the way...my 27 year old daughter is an Eeyore fanatic, also! :-)
Reply:i dont really understand the question but... my family... like my mom and sister and aunts and cousins all go and bake cookies every year right after thanks giving :)
Reply:Does you family get together? How far do they come from?

Do the kids sit at separate tables?

Does you family go holiday shopping together?

Do you gather at the same place each year for the holiday?

Do you get family pictures at the holidays?

Do you help the less fortunate by volunteering?
Reply:How about, "Does your family have a unique family holiday tradition?"

Yes there are lots of them. Just be careful, I answered one for the prize that was garantueed and not only did I never get the prize, I got added to so many bulk mails sites (over100) that I am still trying to get rid of.

Survey: What are your favourite qualities about yourself, & what would you like to improve about yourself?

For myself, I like that I am someone who usually can connect with people easily and bond with them. On the other hand, I am far too temperamental for my own good, and as close as I can connect with people, I am equally good at demolishing such bonds when I am stressed or upset, so this is a big area that I need to work on improving.

What about you?

Survey: What are your favourite qualities about yourself, %26amp; what would you like to improve about yourself?
I'm a loyal friend...I'll give you the shirt off my back and go to great lengths to avoid hurting someone.

I am way too sensitive...I can dwell on a hurt for quite a while even though I am well aware that I am being irrational.
Reply:Well, I love unconditionally, I am a Loyal friend, I am very sensitive to other peoples feelings , the empathy I feel for other people is sometimes, well I guess I am trying to say I feel the pain of other people to the extent that effects me maybe more than it should ( hard to explain) On the other hand I don't like confrontation BUT if i get push to My limit I can be brutal verbally, and If I don't like someone they know it , I cannot pretend to be a Friend. This is a problem I need to work on when I'm working . I will get along with almost everyone, I can take people for who they are ( different personalities) But there are certain people that I just can stand and have trouble holding back how I feel. When sometimes I should just be the better person and get along with them. And there are certainally other areas in my life that need work on .But too tired to list them all !!!!
Reply:I like the fact that I can easily become friends with people and accept them as they are. Once they are my friend, they are until they break off the relationship. And that brings me to the part I don't like. Having trouble forgiving them for not wanting me as their friend. Not all forgiving is a problem, just that aspect. I am a forgiving person, just not when betrayed.

Some of this revolves around compassion for others and knowing that I can help them, the hard part is not being able to help due to circumstances out of my control. Which is another problem, I'm not sure if I like being in control or not, sometimes being forced to be the one in control and in some situations I would rather not be the one but there is no one else to do it.

I'd like to be able to have more fun and be around happy, jovial people that make me laugh, egg me on, and bring out the best in me because if it is thrown at me I will surely.rebound it back.
Reply:Wow Jack, you're like, PMS-ing or something. It's true you're very good at connecting. Probably all those positive ions that surround you like a halo.

The thing I like about myself is that I'm really good at hide and seek. The thing that needs improving (or so they SAY) is guarding my tongue. I just say the first thing on my mind, which sometimes is not such a good thing.....yeah, I've learned to do a LOT of editing and back-pedaling. I think I've improved.
Reply:I'm a person who can adapt to any environment or social circle with natural ease, and have fun in the process. I'm extremely energetic and I like how I can turn a potential fight around (my husband and friends are still shaking their heads at how I manage to do it)

However, I'm not really conscious of other people's feelings, and sometimes I read them wrong. I have no patience with quitters and those that pity themselves. I do not understand depression, and that makes me insensitive.

I would like to be more in tune and sensitive to others emotional problems.
Reply:I love that I'm a friendly person and willing to help people emotionally. I have a lot of things I would like to improve about myself, such as being jealous, my self esteem, and not having as much self confidence that I would like to have.
Reply:I'm very accepting of other people, and I am able to be deeply moved by art, music, or great literature. I'm full of useless but entertaining trivia facts, as well. : )

I need to be more disciplined and ambitious...life is quickly passing me by, and I've done little of consequence up to this point.
Reply:i like that it's really hard to get me upset...although once i'm upset i tend to stay upset for a long time.

my friend and i call this "holding a grudge in this life and into the next." i think it's a scorpio trait.

ok...maybe i'm not that bad, but i would like to let go of my anger sooner.

((jack))
Reply:like you, I feel like I easily connect with people... but then after a short while I lose interest and stop putting in any effort to maintain a friendship. in fact, if i look around, i don't have any real friends. sure i have my wife and a few girlfriends, but that's not the same is it?
Reply:My favorite quality about myself? That'd have to be my intelligence and cunning.

As for what I'd change about myself? I guess it would be useful and helpful to be able to read people better. I'm not that good at recognizing social cues, at least not as good as I wish I was.
Reply:I wish I could answer this in an unbiased way, but right now I'm tired, and overwhelmed and I see no good qualities, only too much to improve upon.
Reply:lol to be politically correct Jack what you described about yourself i believe is called bi-polar =p

jus kidding bro

um... yea

anyway I'm extremely compassionate about life in general as much talk i do and how obnoxious i can be at times, being big bad MMA man and a prick etc.. despite all those things I am quite compassionate about life and hate to see creatures in danger or hurt.

Which is really odd considering the ghetto i came from where most people would rather blow your head off then give a compliment.

well... example today i continued to help nurse a robin chick, he's in the yard now in some high hedges i hope his mom teaches him well.. The other day he fell in my pool and i got him out he seemed to be shocked from the cold so I kept it in the palms of my hands woke up today at 5am because baby robins need to be fed every 20 minutes and done so all day. He's become less dependent on me quickly so hopefully he'll be one of the 25% of robins that survive past the first 3 months.

Yesterday i found a stray dog he's been abused and starved doing much better now but has worms, I'm trying to get him into a no kill animal shelter, despite being somewhat aggressive over food and not liked to be left alone he's actually very well behaved and neutered but i can tell the signs of abuse on him and won't give him back to the original owners anyway he didn't have any ID on him so all should be good unless he has a tracking device in him which i doubt. We're not that fancy in da hood.

One of my tenants today is having problems with her 15 year son, he's very troubled i thought about evicting them because of him but i talked to him some I don't think i got through to him much but he's clam now and on his way to his grandfathers.

I hate using anything but cruelty free mouse traps and my neighbors hate me for dumping live mice in their yard but i figured they came from those dirt balls to begin with so I'm just returning them.

I'm environmental friendly and surely the only one around here who cut their fossil fuel use in half. I would like to get out of the city with enough land and no restrictions to make a home into a 100% reusable energy.

I have a strong empathy toward others...

I believe we belong to the earth and not the earth to us.

I believe in community involvement

volunteering my thing is mostly animal shelters

wild life preservation (F U Sarah Palin and ur drilling for oil)

so yea despite being a jerk at times and making fun of dumbtards i am actually a pretty nice guy.

No really!

Survey: At work, do you volunteer anything about your personal life?

Do you care or want to know anything about their personal life?

With very few exceptions, I tell them absolutely nothing. At the same time, I honestly don't care or want to know anything at all about their life outside work. Gossip is a pointless exercise.

I would tell them nothing interesting is going on and even if there were I wouldn't tell them anyway.

Survey: At work, do you volunteer anything about your personal life?
it is nobodys buisness but yours , it is personal , simply put invasion of privacy . you have the right idea . the young lady who posted small towns . hit the nail right on the head . her advice is correct . stay yourself be yourself
Reply:I live in a small town...most everyone I work with knows all about everyone's personal life anyway!!!
Reply:My fellow teachers are also my friends. We know an awful lot about each other's personal lives. I'm glad. We take care of each other when we need to or celebrate with each other when we can.
Reply:Gossip can also be about work. The grapevine is an excellent way to find out who got fired, called in the office, and for what, etc. I do try to keep my work and personal lives separate, though.
Reply:Now I do not say anything about my personal life at work unless there is an emergency and I can't be at work - and that information only goes to appropriate office. I do have a couple of friends at my new job now, but nothing personal is discussed at work. We email each other, do favors, and call - but I think we all have been burned in the past and know enough to keep our personal lives away from work. We know when one of our buddies is down, and we will acknowledge that briefly for support, but nothing deep until it is private.

There was a time in my life when I was more open and trusted "friends" at work. My onsite manager was very manipulative and used it for the "power and control" trip she was on. There will always be creeps at work digging for dirt on anyone - that's why I go in clean, and leave clean.

Survey: When your neighbours start acting suspicious about your odd hours and crazy habits?

would it be approprite to wait until your husband is gone a few days on business to take out that old rolled up carpet with rotton potatoes in it at midnight while your nosey neighbors are outside?

Survey: When your neighbours start acting suspicious about your odd hours and crazy habits?
Hahahahah that is awesome!!! And very appropriate! You have gotten some really good answers here...about the "shut up or I'll hit you again", lol, and the red paint, oh yea and the stuffed shirt with an arm hanging out...Hilarious!!! What would also be hilarious is for you to started recording yourself inside your house saying what you are about to do and videotaping the thing you are taking outside and then set up the camera to catch their reactions and stuff, that would be an awesome thing to put on You Tube!!
Reply:I like to use an old steamer trunk. It just gives it that old world charm. Just clean the fridge out, being sure to toss in a hunk of meat and all the ketchup you can find. Be sure to take it out the day after the trash is picked up, so it has a chance to ferment. Don't forget to set out the old buzz saw, the one with the red paint on it.
Reply:YES,do that and have alot of cars stopping and someone running in+out for and hour or two,so you have "traffic",and then have the carpet dragged out and say thats wot you get for trying to rip me off!
Reply:This had me howling with laughter. I like your style.

By all means do so. It is not only appropriate it is retribution and satisfaction all rolled up in one carpet.
Reply:Make sure you say "SHUSH OR I'LL HIT YOU AGAIN" accidentally too loudly.
Reply:Yes, another option would be to smear red food coloring mixed with Karo syrup all over yourself and drag out the carpet nude.

I don't just say this for our benefit either...(wink)
Reply:Let me know the time and place and I will help you out, I will brink the bucket full of surprises:D
Reply:don't forget the preceeding bloodcurling screams and gunshots...sound effects can be downloaded fromt he net....hee...hee..hee...

:-)
Reply:Your neighbors are out at midnight and they're worried about your habits.....=)
Reply:what are your neighbors doing out at midnight?

((looks around suspiciously))
Reply:ha ha. Noisy use of power tools in the basement by said husband on the night before he leaves will have them frenzied.
Reply:When my neighbors called me white trash I put a light up pink flamingo in my yard to piss them off...so you do whatever you need to do :)
Reply:i would tell them to mind their own business, and quit being so nosy.
Reply:Do it! You might want to stuff an old shirt and leave an arm hanging out!
Reply:for me they have nothing better to do they must have boaring lives
Reply:Sounds like a plan!
Reply:What do you think?????
Reply:Sure? just make sure you do them in too, and hide the bodies accordingly
Reply:While you're at it can you take out my "garbage"? and perhaps this old freezer I have.... It stopped working a few days ago... I've taped it up.
Reply:bury it in the back yard late at night
Reply:Rofl be the best thing I could think of doin, hell better!!

Can any Teachers answer a survey of 10 questions about school for me?

please let me know what subject you teach and which grade. please answer with details. thank you.

1. Do you think children get too much homework?

2. Do you think parents are shifting some of their responsibilities on to you?

3. What do you do when some of your students are exceptionally bright and others are not as quick to learn?

4. What subject(s) do you wish you had more time for in school?

5. Is there any subject/topic you think children should NOT be learning in school?

6. Do you think pop culture has changed the behavior of the average student over the years? (ex. ruder, changes in the way they dress)

7. What type of lessons do students seem to enjoy most? (ex. reading together, working in groups)

8. Do students who have a difficult home life suffer academically?

9. What method of punishment is most effective? (ex. writing name on chalkboard, detention)

10. Do you feel preparation for standardized tests take away from regular subject learning?

Can any Teachers answer a survey of 10 questions about school for me?
I teach Spanish to MIddle School students.

1. Yes, I think many teachers overuse homework. I personally feel that there should be no more than 20 minutes of homework per subject, per night in middle school.

2.Absolutely!!! I have actually had parents tell me on the phone that I need to deal with whatever problems their child has because it is "my job". Unfortunately, when you are dealing with parents who don't take responsibility for properly raising their child, then you as the teacher are then in charge of trying to not only teach the kids academics, but also social skills and how to succeed outside the classroom, and not end up in jail or worse.

3 I try to vary the activities so that my brighter students who catch on quickly can move along and even elaborate or incorporate more into their project or lesson. I use a variety of teaching strategies so that all types of learners are reached.

4. I wish I had more time to do hands-on projects.

5. No, I think that all the subjects taught at my school are appropriate and worthwhile.

6. Definitely- the way kids speak to other kids, as well as to adults. I find more and more that kids try to speak to adults as if we are their peers. As far as the way they dress, our school has a strict dress code, but there are always the few who try to get past it.

7. My students love doing group activities that don't involve a lot of writing.

8. Yes, most of the time. I have so many kids who tell me stories that are so heart-breaking!

9. I find that if the students are responsible for their own behavior and consequences, then it is much more effective. We come up with a mission statement as well as expected behaviors at the beginning of the year. That way, the students have created the rules and consequences, not me.

10. Yes!!!!
Reply:middle school social studies 6-8th

1. no...not enough

2. most have already, at least where i teach...we feed the kids, give them supplies and watch them sometimes until 9-10pm in after school...

3. give them extra material on the topic, ask them to do some more research pn their own...this rarely happens today due to the homogeneous grouping of classes now...most classes have kids that all work on the same level...

4. science and technology

5. we SHOULD NOT HAVE to teach things like basic hygiene and common sense things these kids should be learning at home or at least before they get to 6th grade...

6. yes, but it is not just pop culture...people are getting stupider and prouder of it...there is a stigma in my school of being a smart kid...granted the "smartest" kid in my school still only meets 70% of the standards he should...too many parents who are not well enough educated themselves raisding kids who will turn out to be even less educated...it will just spiral downward exponentially...

7. hands on, creative opportunities where there is really no right or wrong answer, low stress activities, field trips...

8. they can, i have seen cases where students who came from a poor home life acted out, failed classes, drank and did drugs, got sexually involved at an early age, even got pregnant...then there are others who use it as a motivation to do well and be able to work their way out of a bad situation...unfortunately there are fewer of these types...

9. nothing...in my school kids do not fear any consequence, they relish being suspended or sent to the alternative program...it is all a big joke...

10. yes, yes and yes...teachers are forced to divert from their curriculum and teach specially prepared packets that focus on a 'skilll of the week' that will be needed on a state or city test...very often teachers who are not experienced at teaching math or language atrs do a poor job and actually end up misinforming the kids...
Reply:I teach Language Arts and Social Studies to Grades 7 and 8.

1. I don't think children in my school get too much homework. I think about ninety minutes per week per academic subject is appropriate. I also think the work should not require students to use textbooks because it's bad for students' backs to have to carry five books in their backpack each day.

2. Definitely. We're not just supposed to teach the curriculum, we're also supposed to teach manners, common sense, critical thinking, sex ed, social skills and even some religious and political information.

3. I differentiate my instruction. For more information, see any of the books by Carol Tomlinson that are published by the ASCD. They're available on Amazon.

4. I think school already strikes a good balance between subjects.

5. I don't feel that religious education and/or religiously-themed activities belong in public schools OR publicly-funded Catholic/Protestant schools. [Which obviously means I don't believe Catholic/Protestant schools should receive tax funding.]

6. I'm a new teacher, but the students I work with today are a lot more polite and well-mannered than my classmates were at that age. Every grade is different... sometimes it's a bad grade and you just can't wait until they hit Grade 12, other times you want that group of students to stick around forever.

7. Students enjoy learning through doing, not learning through reading textbooks and taking notes. Students enjoy learning when they can use the skills and knowledge in a real-world setting. Students enjoy learning when they have choice and are given a variety of ways to approach the subject matter so that it becomes personally relevant to them.

8. Definitely. Students who are worried about their parents' divorce or whether or not there will be food on the table that night can't be expected to concentrate 100% on their classwork. Schools need to acknowledge, respect and accommodate that.

9. The best "punishment" is a serious, face-to-face conversation. For more info on why things like writing lines and detentions don't work, read about Behaviourism.

10. Absolutely. Standardized tests don't reflect the ways that a person would use their skills and knowledge in the real world. We should be preparing students for LIFE, not for a test. I would like to see standardized tests be used to measure TEACHERS' effectiveness-- not students'!
Reply:I teach 8th grade science

1. My students do not get too much homework, but my 4th grade grandson does. He is only supposed to have homework from one subject a night, but that doesn't include the spelling each week and the vocabulary each week and the math drill each week.

2. Oh my gosh yes. Parents want me to be the heavy so they can be their kids friend.

3. Have the bright ones tutor the others, bring the slower ones in for tutoring.

4. science

5. no

6. Yes. Students have less respect for adults, for women, for property. They have more inappropriate language at younger ages.

7. Group work, hands on activities

8. Yes, they can't keep their mind on their studies. Too much going on at home.

9. Calling home. Talking to coaches or band directors.

10. Yes. I cannot do the fun things for worrying about drilling in the content that will be covered on the test.
Reply:1. I dont know the average amount of homework, but as a teacher and a parent I think an hour a day is the absolute maximum. Anything after that is not likely to be done due to fatigue, family plans, social life, etc. So as a teacher in a 4x4, I give no more than 15 minutes of homework a night.

2. Yes. I don't know how many parents I've called about their kids who won't work, behave, etc..., and the parent tells me to figure something out because they don't know what to do either...

3. If I catch it early, I try to get them into an honors/Ap class. If not, I try to get them to mentor the slower students.

4. I think P.E is the most neglected/overlooked subject. Most high schools only reqire 2 years and many kids can bypass this with R.O.T.C. or some other elective. I firmly believe that P.E. daily (not health and education but exercise) should be required of all teachers and students.

5. No. To be well rounded everything possible must be offered.

6. Yes. PDA and inappropriate language are more prevelant now than in the previous decade.

7. The students enjoy group work the most. Unfortunately, it is also the style that they will talk the most and work the least.

8. Yes. But a heads up to the teacher and a little compassion by the teacher as well as a little forgiveness during the time in question can be constructive.

9. Personally, I think doing extra book work on topic is most effective. First, they might actually learn something and second, they don't want to do it.

10. Yes. I think standardized testing which can determine whether a student graduates or gets promoted is wrong. In my book that is just punishing kids who aren't good standardized test takers (and most aren't).

Survey What do you know about????

What do you know about potatoes? and what is your favourite potato recipe?.

Survey What do you know about????
I know where they originated, who introduced them to UK, who made them popular in Germany, how to grow them, how to build a potato clamp to keep them through the winter... I know a lot about potatoes, but do not know what would be relevant/of interest to you? Also the health %26amp; safety... Never eat green potatoes, cut the area around the eyes away and avoid potatoes which have advanced shoots grown.

As for favourite recipe.... Huummm... As a Piglet by name and by nature, it does not really matter how they are cooked because I LOVE 'EM in most incarnations (except, steamed which reminds me of school dinners. Yuck!).

But probably the more unhealty and fatty the recipe, the better it tastes! LOL! Mind you, baked potatoes are hard to beat, potato skins, potato cakes, gnocchi, riced, sauted, roast or the big fat chipped potatoes all crunchy on the outside and floury inside (not those dreadful matchsticks though). Scalloped, cheese topped, pureed, creamed... But they should have loads of salt, pepper, nutmeg, butter and cream!

Then the leftovers... Bubble and Squeak, left over potatoes sauteed with onions and bacon then served with a fried egg and chutney/worcester sauce/brown sauce, potato girddle cakes...

As for the snobs who think potatoes are still for keeping the poor of the world fed, they are out of touch with the realities of the 21st century. Maybe potatoes filled this role in the past, but the price has risen since Big Business has cornered the market and there is now only "licensed" potato production. Add this to the short shelf life of potatoes, the cost of transport, packaging and low "value added" factors, it makes potatoes relativelz much more expensive than other staple foods such as grain and rice.
Reply:this is a VERY great way to cook potatoes.

preheat the oven to 180 - 200 degrees.

boil potatoes for about 20 mins

put potatoes in a casseole dish and mix in some butter(easier if pre melted), salt and pepper.

cook in the oven for about 20-30 minutes

the potatoes will be crisp coated and soft on the inside!
Reply:They're tuberous plants, they have very little taste when cooked alone, they can be poisonous if any green parts are eaten and there's probably a load more about them on Google.

I have no particular favourite way of cooking them, liking them done as chips, mashed, fried or baked - whole or in fat.
Reply:I LOVE potatoes. If I could pick only one thing to eat for the rest of my life it'd be potatoes lol You can do soooo many things with them:

Scalloped, Cheesy, Mashed, Fried, French, Skins, etc.

I love to make my mashed with mushroom soup instead of cheese.

And I really like my mashed potatoes with sour cream and cheese and bbq sauce or horse radish sauce!!

So delish!!
Reply:They are very starchy, and a staple for low-income families that have farms. (Emphasis on the THAT HAVE FARMS part)

Put some lard in a pan with as many sliced potatoes as possible and fry them, turning occasionally until golden brown.
Reply:Potatoes are root vegetables.....they are aka spuds....

I like mashed potatoes with melted cheese and also chips ~ yummy!!!
Reply:I can't say I know a lot about potatoes, but I quite like creamy mashed potatoes with gravy; I lived on it during University! :o)
Reply:they originated in peru , sir walter raleigh brought them here to Ireland and Ill only eat them mashed with some milk, butter pepper and onion other than that I hates potatoes

I need help Making up 8 questions for a Survey about Children and Cell Phones!? HELP?

It has to be business related in a way of children using cell phones and costing their parents money! THankkss so much for the help. Pleaseeee give me ideas and ill return the favor and answerr ur questions! I have a brainn block help!!?!!

I need help Making up 8 questions for a Survey about Children and Cell Phones!? HELP?
1. How old should a child be before he/she gets a cell phone?

2. Should a child be allowed full access to cell phone services? (Text Messaging, Internet)

3. Is there limits to how many minutes the child can use?

4. Due to the risk of the child loosing a cell phone, should I get a refurbished or a brand new phone?

5. Is cell phone insurance a good thing for children?

6. Can I limit the numbers my child calls to (parents, family, and 911)

7. Should I let my child keep the phone 24/7 or take it away when he/she gets home from school?

8. Is there any restrictions to stopping text messaging after a certain amount have been sent/recieved?
Reply:I would ask questions like this:

1) How much money is spent per month on cell phones total in the household?

2) Are there any users of cell phones under the age of 18? If so, what are their ages?

3) What kind of cell phone plan does your family have?

4) Does your cell phone plan allow for texting? If not, how much extra per month is this costing?

5) Do you put any restrictions on your children's cell phone use? Certain amount of time? Allow only some features to be used (ie: no texting)? Spending limit?

6) Are the cell phones your children use primarily used for communicating with the family or are they allowed free use of the phone to call/text friends?

7) How many cell phones are in use in your family?

8) Do you feel that your cell phone bills are higher than average, average, or below average in comparison to other families?

These are a few to hopefully get you started.
Reply:Do you feel that your parents limit your cell phone to nights or weekends because it costs them minuets?
Reply:If you're personally against children having cellphones, than ask a question along the lines, do you think children should have cellphones or do you think cell phones for children are a waste of money? Why or why not? Then you can you ask how cell phones are beneficiary to children excluding personal cases such as parking is horrible at school. And then elaborate more.

Hey just need some answers like a survey about school?

hi I was just wondering when you was in middle school did any of you did bad and did not do good in middle school and your teachers would say that if you dont do good in school you would be on the side of the street asking for money in fast food place working as a cashier if so did any of you become successful in life ?

Hey just need some answers like a survey about school?
Yes, that happens to many middle schoolers. It's a difficult time of life, and many, many teachers are insensitive and cruel about these difficulties.

Hang in there. There IS life after middle school!

Survey for business people, Me and my group want to see what other people thinks about tobacco issues.?

Does a selling a potentially harmful or addictive product that is nevertheless legal represent an ethical problem for businesspeople? How should a society regulate such products and protect its citizens from them?

Survey for business people, Me and my group want to see what other people thinks about tobacco issues.?
Personal responsibility, personal responsibility, personal responsibility. So many things are bad for you. So many things come with warnings. Companies are now required to give warnings. When the consumer ignores the warnings, it is the consumer's problem. In a perfect world, none of us would seek to harm our bodies. As long as there is a market for self destruction, people will make a buck in it. Remember, those companies that supply cigarettes, fast food, etc. contribute greatly to our economy. If you do not like them, do not give them your money. Peace and prosperity to you.
Reply:BURN ALL THE TOBACCO PLANTS ....FACTORIES, ETC.
Reply:Regulating or banning cigarettes and alcohol will eventually lead to regulating and banning things like: chocolate, caffeine, meat, sugar, music that some like and others don't, etc. Once it starts, it won't end until nobody has any rights and we're all afraid to even think for ourselves.
Reply:People need to educate themselves...Health Ministries need to issue warning...via news letters, Newpapers and TV AD..

But I tell u...the counteries where Tobacco companies are allowed to operate they pay huge taxes. and the govt wants these taxes...

In stock Martket , Where these companies are listed...they make good money and share holders are happy with the profit payouts and these companies are growing..

Few Fund mangers suggest their customers to buy tobacco company shares...coz they are growth stock...

I was reading a book...on Ethical Investment...In that book it was discourge to invest into tobacco companies..

Has anyone heard about paid survey program?

Does it work? Has anyone made money with it?

Has anyone heard about paid survey program?
I have been making money on internet for 4 years and I was personally scammed by a good many making money methods. Finally,I found the most legitimate, effective and fast way for beginner to make money is doing paid surveys if you have a computer with Internet access and can sit at your computer for 1.5-3 hours per day.

But before joining a paid survey network, you should be sure that the paid survey company satisfies the following minimum requirements:

1. In business for at least 1 year.

2. Well organized, easy to navigate directories.

3. Directories updated at least weekly.

4. Helpful resources available for newcomers.

5. No "waiting period". Eligible immediately..

And more,more....

I understand it is difficult for a new online money maker to judge whether a paid survey site is good or not.So I found a survey club to help beginner make money on internet. You can visit http://www.**************** to find how to earn money easily and legally.Hope that help you.

Are you prepared for the consequences?
Reply:Maybe you should ask the girl 13 that said OMG I'm pregnant!
Reply:1.) Are you prepared to take care of a child if your preferred method of birth control fails?

2.) Are you certain that your partner is free of any STIs or other sexually transmitted diseases, such as HIV?

Why do these survey people not provide an option for people on disabilities when asking about employment?

I do surveys and enjoy doing them. However when it comes to the part where they ask about your employment there is no option for people on disability. What's up with that? i have taken to sending back e-mails complaining of the discrimanation.

Why do these survey people not provide an option for people on disabilities when asking about employment?
I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU MEAN! I usually check off "retired" because I was put on disability retirement a few years ago.

Not only that, the next question asks what line of work you are in!

If you're disabled and cannot work, how are you supposed to answer that?????

I've written to a couple of survey companies about that very question! If I find out something, I'll let you know.
Reply:actually, and in reality, specifically listing disability in employment would be the discrimination and others would be complaining about that.

Jobs are jobs and they are posted or people apply for them on an equal status so that both disabled and non-disabled can apply for them and get hired. See there is a law that says employers cannot ask if you are disabled. They can ask though about what accommodations they can provide to you to make your work and employment there easier for you.

So now you know.
Reply:unless it is a legally binding survey-

you have 2 choices-

consider yourself employed as taking care of yourself is a job

or consider yourself unemployed-

if this is teh worst discrimination you have to worry about-be happy-

I was fired from my job due to discrimination and lost $45000 in pay and benefits
Reply:I like doing them also and I too have pondered why there is no option for the disabled. Maybe because they figure not enough disabled people do the surveys only working people do. I have also written them if I find out anything I will let you know.
Reply:why make it a point of letting people know you are on disability? to me, there is no need for labels on people. maybe i misunderstand your question. is it that you are being told you cant do the survey b/c you have a disability? to me we should not put labels on people.
Reply:Most surveys have flaws - few cover all possible differences. Unemployed might fit in some cases.

i need people like you to tell me some mission statements about child labor that u made up. it will be really helpful

I am taking a survey and i need to see how many people can make a mission statement about child labor?
The poor children of India are often made to labor for 10 to 12 hours per day in the factories, some as young as five. We, as consumers, should be aware of who and how our products have been made, especially carpeting and clothing with hand-sewn bead work.

Taking a survey about High School Diplomas vs. College Degrees vs. Some College Credits?

Many people say that a college degree will earn you more money, so I wanted to see what you all think. How many of you have either a high school diploma, a college degree, or some college and you either have a position that you love and make more than enough money or you are barely making ends meet? Also, do you feel as though your education played a factor in your current employment or your work experience and work ethic?

Taking a survey about High School Diplomas vs. College Degrees vs. Some College Credits?
Most employers now days will give a person with a degree a job faster than a person with only a high school diploma. So GO TO College.
Reply:Well, maybe my answer isn't referring to your questio, so I apologize in advance.

I'm currently in College and I'm working in an all-right job making more money than I should be. But it definitely isn't a job that I want to be working in. However as I start finishing my college courses I want to start looking around for jobs for me.

As a matter of fact I got this job before I went to College. I started it after high school (I graduated a semester early)
Reply:with a high school diploma and seeking a job where i have years experceince i am not having any luck at all getting a job most employers want some type of college degree. While i have the expereince. Also the more money we make the more money we spend everyone is always finding them selfs pinching pennies here and there. and yes most people education plays an important role in their life
Reply:Credits and degrees is not really nessary to achieve respect and fortune. .. The only people in my life that are rolling rich is the doctors of specialty sercices. Cancer doctor is a very lucerative position. Heart specialists.. Be a doctor if you gona slave over studies...
Reply:I love my job. College graduate, making exactly what I deserve. I wouldn't have this job without a degree and I don't think I'd be making what I make without it either.
Reply:ive heard it both ways, but more often than not, those with a degree cant get any better paying job than myself. I'm making about 23k a year which is almost poverty level for a household of 3. Cant get food stamps (which is ok with me cept for those rough times of year when the company cuts back on hours). I am looking to get back into school and get a degree but what i want to do doesnt pay much. I want photography and with todays world being digital i just need to find a good camera, excellent scenery and someone to buy my photos. I do want a degree, it'll make me feel better about me but i cant guarantee it will land me a better job. Kudos to those who have their degrees!
Reply:I have a bachelors degree and am now working on a Masters. I'm having a hard time making ends meet. But I would not give up my college background for anything because it has taught me so much and most importantly the ability to think and analyze. It is a tough economy out there. The old rules do not seem to apply. You do not need a college education but it is recommended. However, it is not worth going into debt for. I am going into debt with my masters but I think that I will be able to pay it back because of my next chosen field (accounting). My husband has had some college courses and is in a trade that pays well. He makes more than I do. But it's very hard to keep up because the costs of living have increased tremendously over the past few years. It's kind of scarey because I wonder what does the future hold and what will retirement be like because how will we be able to save enough for that time? We aren't planning to retire but what if illness or sudden accident occurs and then what? I don't understand why more Americans insist on taking care of it themselves. It seems most of us will not be able to do it. Do they think that their lives aren't worth anything? Do they want to risk everything they have worked hard for? I don't. I think we should do something collectively so that we all have some sense of security. It will do a lot to restore confidence, credibility, and security.

Can you help this student with a survey about fast food and taxes? Feel free to add additional comments.?

1. What is your age and state of residence (only)?

2. How often do you eat fast food? Why?

3. How often do you use the drive-thru to order your fast food and why?

4. How much automotive idle time do you estimate you use at the drive-thru?

5. How do you currently feel about environmental issues, and do you think the idle emissions from automobiles contribute emissions to the greenhouse effect, if you believe the greenhouse effect is a dilemma?

6. Is the drive-thru a major/minor convienence to your life and why?

7. Would you consider paying a nominal tax for use of the drive- thru each visit, if you knew the nominal tax would be used for state environmental iniatives?

8. Would you be willing to pay a $0.15 service tax for usage of the drive-thru, if the tax funded research for alternative fuel? Why, or why not?

9. What is the maximum amount you would consider for a drive-thru service tax?

10. How do you feel this might affect your lifestyle?

(Thank you from a very greatful student. :)

i would be annoyed as heck, if i thought there was a chance that my fifteen cents would say buy a tree directly i would be more for it but i dont believe this would ever happen would be abused for other purposes also fifteen cents is nothing for the rich but would hurt the poor. maybe try taxing on take home pay of customers they can give two years of tax returns to the first window and pay the tax at the second.

you are welcome

( if you did a survey about suvs i would have been more for taxing the heck out of them and there idle sucking fossil fuel engines)

Makeup Question

I need to make a simple survey on how teens nowadays think about social issues.?

1.Bullying at school

2.Idolizing Celebrities

3.How aware of STD and pregnancy

4.Homosexuals

5.Drugs

You don't have to respond to all of them, but you can answer the questions even though you are not a teen yourself. just put your sex and age at the end of your response(s).

Tell me what you guys think about how teens act, affect, or think to the listed items above.

Thank you all!

I need to make a simple survey on how teens nowadays think about social issues.?
1. Bullying is wrong. Going through public school up until this year, I have been the target of numerous bullies. Even though I don't think that the self esteem issue is all it's cracked up to be, bullying really brings you down. Depending on the way you work and they type of bullying, you can get really messed up. A favorite trick of bullies is to bombard a girl with insincere requests for a date or declarations of love. This seriously messes up a persons head to where she has a hard time telling when a guy is serious because that line has been used so many times before. Pressure can also build up and you can end up hurting someone innocent. I know that last year I got my adopted brother in trouble because I asked him to help me deal with a bully. He didn't do any thing bad to her, but he got in trouble and still could get in more trouble, because despite whitnesses, she said he was molesting her. And, though he and I and someone who didn't even know about the her got in trouble and she got off scot free. So, I say that bullying is horribbly wrong and is a larger problem than anything else in schools.

2. I don't idolize celebrities, and I don't pay attention to gossip about them. The only ones that I think are even cute are Kevin Bacon and Judd Nelson when they were younger. I think that if that floats your boat, fine with me, and I don't have a problem to them having money because this is a free market and if they want that life and can do the work for it, they deserve to have it, but personally I think they should be less of a media issue.

3.I know all the risks, but that's partly because I read anything that comes my way. At my school, most people have a pretty good idea of the effects of premarital sex. I've only had one pregnant girl in the two public schools that I've been in, and she was waiting to turn 18 to get married to her boyfriend. I think that it really depends on the area that you live in, and wheather the school wants to spring for sex ed.

4. I don't have a problem with homosexuals. One of the people that I admire most is flat out gay. She cannot perform with a guy, but that dosn't effect her ability to be a wonderful person and great role model. Several of the guys in the school I am in now are bi, and nobody really cares. However, both my dad and adopted brother are fine with lesbians but are very uncomfortable around gay guys, and my mom and sister are fine with gay guys but are uncomfortable around lesbians.

5. It depends. I think that date rape drugs, estacy, that stuff is the worst form of horrible and should never have been invented. I think that drugs(here meaning any drug that dosn't have beneficial medicinal use) are stupid and you shouldn't use them. I think they should be leagalized because if they are, you can tax them, controll the flow a bit more, and pull a lot of ground from under drug kingpins. I personally would rather slit my wrists than take drugs because I can't stand being out of my own controll. I think that anyone doing drugs deserves a Darwin award, even if by some miracle they haven't died yet. But, several of my friends don't see eye to eye with me on this issue.

Reply:well i am an older adult...female...who works with teenagers who mostly have whacked parents...i would say bullying still sucks and people fear it like they did when i was a kid 25 years ago...idolizing celebrities has always been around and i think it's a way that young kids can try to fit in and relate in a more clean good way....kids are much more aware of STDs then back then because it is in your face more...whether it be through school...more kids having sex earlier perhaps...TV..newspaper..HOWEVER..they still don't think anything bad can happen to them like young people have always thought....homosexuals i believe are more accepted because it is more out there as well and not so quite anymore about it..and drugs ..well they were around back then but in were bad too...and it seems like it always goes around in full circle....like it's real bad stuff out there..and everyone's on it or talking about it..then for awhile it wasn't so prominent..now it seems everyone is addicted to meth or crack or heroin...and the kids nowadays also get weak to peer pressure as always

Survey: Having a dent in your car, how do you feel about it ?

Some people hate even the smallest dent in their car, others do not care too much, again others might feel it gives the car character, uniqueness or may even look cute. What are your thoughts, how do you feel about it ?

Survey: Having a dent in your car, how do you feel about it ?
At first I felt upset but it is small and not really noticeable so if anyone mentions it I tell them it is that my car didn't want to look like everyone elses so it has it's own character now. It has a dimple.
Reply:I used to have a 96 Honda Accord. My dad dented its side five years before I even got my permit and never fixed it. The dent was not huge but it was not tiny. He later gave me the car. With the dent.

I hated having a dented car that I did not dent. The concept just annoyed me. But, because it was a common car and color, I could easily find it in parking lots. When I moved I was holding a box and used the dent to help hold it up while I opened the door. And the dent made my car unique. It had character =)

Two weeks ago I got a BEAUTIFUL and new Honda civic. If someone so much as touches it they will suffer.
Reply:I only ever buy cheap cars so I never have to worry about any of that nonsense. I don't care about character or cuteness, as long as it runs and looks pointless to steal, that does me fine.
Reply:having a dent on my car, done by others, i hate it.. after awhile the dents become rusty and it all makes my car look like a piece of junk.. 3 hits and no apologies .. bummer ...
Reply:Dents in the car is a fact of life. I think nothing of it unless it is a really nasty one. The only way to prevent dents is to keep it home in the garage. That is not going to happen.
Reply:I have no feelings about a dent in the car. But, you posted this question under "Beauty %26amp; Style"!
Reply:I drive a 5 year old Ford F250 Crew Cab 4x4. This is the BIG boy. It's like parking a battleship.

I've got a nice scrape on the left most front bumper. It's been there about 4 years. I think my kids put it there, but who knows.

I've got a dent which I actually saw happen: a friend of mine backed into my parked truck with her mini-van.

I've got a few other nicks and scrapes and scars here and there.

I used to obsess over things like this, I used to completely freak out. NOW, especially since I have no car payments for the first time in 23 years, it's not such a big deal. IN fact, I am reluctant to buy anything new, as I don't want to go ballistic every time some little thing happens to the paint.
Reply:I use my vehicle strictly for transportation and not style, so I really don't care if I have a dent in it. In fact, I do!
